Baltimore Orioles: What does the future have in store for Orioles?

2. Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter

Buck Showalter has said several times that he doesn’t believe he will coach outside of Baltimore again in his career.

Does that mean his career stops in 2018?

I don’t think so. I think that the Orioles see the importance in keeping Showalter around. That may be as a GM, special advisor, consultant, or as the manager of the Baltimore Orioles.

I think if Buck wants to manage after 2018, he will and he will be in Baltimore. The Angelos family knows how important he is to the franchise and the community.

However, his importance to the Orioles cannot be understated. Sure, Dan Duquette gets credit for helping resurrect the Orioles.

But Buck Showalter is the one who pushes the buttons. He is the master of the bullpen and is widely considered one of the top five managers in the game.

But, Buck is not the most significant expiring contract in 2018.
