Baltimore Orioles rumors have floated throughout the offseason as the team looks to add the final pieces to their 2017 roster.

Baltimore Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette has taken his time, as always, with his offseason acquisitions this offseason.

Duquette has a knack for making transactions well into the offseason, typically weeks before or even during spring training. When it appears like the Orioles are finished with offseason acquisitions, Duquette does the unexpected with a sudden key addition.

Duquette, however, made a critical acquisition before 2016 ended by signing free agent catcher Welington Castillo to a one-year deal worth $6 million. With the Castillo signing, it’s clear that free agent catcher and eight-year Oriole Matt Wieters will not return to the Baltimore Orioles.

Besides addressing the catcher position, the Orioles still have the task of obtaining an outfielder, designated hitter, and a proven starting pitcher.

With just six weeks until the Orioles’ catchers and pitchers report to spring training, the team must quickly resolve their offseason concerns and tasks.

The start of a new year is a brilliant chance to declare some bold forecasts. Here are three bold predictions before the onset of Opening Day for the Baltimore Orioles. Feel free to leave some predictions of your own in the comments below.
