5. Malik Hooker – S, Ohio State

The Baltimore Ravens secondary was pretty solid this past season, but they’re not getting any younger. They have two safeties who are both in the latter half of their careers in Lardarius Webb (31) and Eric Weddle (32).

While Webb and Weddle certainly have a handful of very useful years left in them, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Ravens to start preparing for a future without them.

Malik Hooker has drawn comparisons to former-Raven Ed Reed, and that’s a favorable comparison if I’ve ever heard one. Hooker is young, relatively inexperienced, but impressed in a major way this past season, his first as a full-time starter.

Hooker only came into Ohio State as a three-star recruit, but in his first full season as a starter, he finished the year with seven interceptions, three for touchdowns, and 74 tackles.

Hooker is fast, athletic, and has shown fantastic ball-hawking skills. If he’s still on the board at number 16, the Ravens should definitely consider him a strong option.
