Baltimore Orioles: 5 of the most exciting games of 2016

4. August 7: Baltimore Orioles 10, Chicago White Sox 2
Before the Orioles’ August 7th game against the Chicago White Sox, there was a chance the Orioles could do some serious damage. They were hitting HRs with proficiency, and James Shields, who had struggled mightily since coming to Chicago, was on the mound.
Manny Machado stepped up in the first with Hyun Soo Kim on first and drilled a home run, his 23rd, over the wall at U.S. Cellular Field.
In the second inning, J.J. Hardy hit a solo home run, and Machado stepped up with Adam Jones and Kim both on base. Machado hit another home run, giving the Orioles a 6-0 lead for Dylan Bundy. But, the team wasn’t done, like Chris Davis, who was hit by a pitch in the first inning, went back-to-back with Machado.
In the third inning, Machado was up again, with Jones on base this time. Manny hit his third home run in as many innings, making it 10-0 and putting his name in the history book.
Bundy would cruise, striking out nine and Ubaldo Jimenez pitched the last three innings, not allowing a base runner and starting his second half resurgence with the first save of his career.
