David Hernandez is a former Oriole who was traded, along with Kam Mickolio, for Mark Reynolds and John Hester in December 2010.

For the Orioles he was a starter in 2009 on one of the teams fans want to forget but eventually developed into a bullpen piece, where all his appearances were made for the Diamondbacks and also his team in 2016, the Philadelphia Phillies.

Hernandez threw 72.2 innings last year, going 3-4 with a 3.84 ERA and a 1.500 WHIP. Hernandez is not a high strikeout guy but still, can be an effective bullpen piece for the O’s.

I am a fan of him returning to Baltimore, as I was last year. I would envision him taking Dylan Bundy‘s role from last year, minus the entering the rotation.
