Washington Wizards: Beal’s 41 Points Propel Wizards Past Clippers
The Washington Wizards are winners of five of their last six games after a comeback win against the Los Angeles Clippers, 117-110, Sunday afternoon.
The Washington Wizards are 12-14 on the season after Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Los Angeles Clippers and just 2.5 games back from the third place in the mediocre Eastern Conference.
Sunday’s win over one of the Western Conference elite teams was by far the most impressive victory of the season as they continue to emerge in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Budding superstar Bradley Beal scored a game-high 41 points, just one point shy of his career-high 42 points recorded last month in a victory over the Phoenix Suns. Beal converted on six of 10 three-point attempts, boosting his total to 67, third best in the East.
The 23-year-old Beal wasn’t the only star of the night for the Wizards as Markieff Morris scored 12 fourth-quarter points, finishing with 23 points and just one rebound shy of a double-double. After Morris’ empathetic block on twin brother Marcus Morris Friday night, 27-year-old forward produced another highlight-reel Sunday, this time putting Marreese Speights in a poster with a monster one-handed slam.

The Wizards faced a seven-point fourth-quarter deficit following a made three-point basket by Austin Rivers with 6:23 left in the game. However, the Wizards finished the game on a 22-8 run to seize their 12th victory of the season.
The Wizards 22-8 run featured a clutch three-pointer by Beal to tie the game at 102 with 5:01 left to play as the announced crowd of 17,380 at Verizon Center erupted. The play unfolded after Morris recorded one of his three steals by snatching the ball away from Rivers. Next, Morris quickly delivered the ball to John Wall as he found a wide-open Beal for the game-tying three-pointer.

Wall provided 18 points and 11 assists for his 15th double-double of the season, 10th most in the NBA. The Wizards shot 53.1 percent from the field and a solid 52.6 percent from beyond the arc.
