4. New York Yankees – Chase Headley, Ronald Torreyes

Preseason prediction: 5th, Headley, Alex Rodriguez, Rob Refsnyder

At this point, what you see is what you are going to get from Chase Headley. If you take out 2011 and 2012 in San Diego from his career, Headley is in the range of a .255-.260 hitter with around 10 home runs. Well, this year Headley went .251/.329/.383 with 14 HRs, 18 2Bs, 51 RBIs, 58 runs. Headley had an oWAR of 1.9, with a dWAR of 1.1.

After last year’s rough season defensively, Headley only made 10 errors in 2016, with a range and fielding percentage above league average. However, the offensive numbers continued to keep Headley in last place.

As for Ronald Torreyes, he started around 25 games, playing all over the place in 2016 for the New York Yankees. Torreyes did a pretty good job for someone playing in limited games, hitting .258/.305/.374. Torreyes is a contact hitter, but a good utility player.
