When the Baltimore Orioles and Dan Duquette traded Steve Clevenger to the Seattle Mariners for Mark Trumbo, most Oriole fans thought it was a steal.

No one would have guessed how great trade it was. Trumbo would go on to lead the majors in home runs in 2016 with 47. Trumbo hit .256/.316/.533 with those 47 HRs, 27 2Bs, 108 RBIs, 94 runs and was an All-Star.

No one would have guessed how great trade it was.

Like almost the entire Orioles’ team, Trumbo struggled the second half of the season mightily, but still was one of the most productive Orioles.

Trumbo also had ten assists in less than 100 games in RF, good enough to put him in the top 5 in the American League. His arm in right field was excellent, although his range was limited.

As you may know, Trumbo is a free agent, and it is going to be tough for the Orioles to try to keep him in orange and black moving forward.
