Baltimore Ravens: 5 Matchups to Watch vs. Oakland Raiders
By Joe Serpico
Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree vs. Jimmy Smith and Shareece Wright
Here is something I never thought I would write about an Oakland Raiders team: they rank second in the NFL in total offense. Carr has not been shy about getting the ball to his top two wideouts as they have combined for 34 catches for 490 yards.
Some will say that the defense they have faced have not been that great – New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Tennesee Titans – but the Ravens secondary has not been spectacular either, despite ranking third in yards allowed. Allen Robinson just beat the Ravens for two touchdowns, and the week prior, it was Corey Coleman who had his way with the secondary.
Carr threw for 351 yards, and Crabtree and Cooper each posted over a 100 yards and a touchdown in last year’s matchup. A repeat performance will likely end in the same result: Oakland racking up 448 yards of offense and getting the win.
