Julius Thomas vs. Eric Weddle and Lardarius Webb

Opposing tight ends have done little against Baltimore in the first two games, but neither team had a talent like Julius Thomas. The 6-foot-5 former college basketball player is one of the most athletic at the position.

The Ravens struggled against tight ends last season and Thomas is off to a solid start. He is well on his way of beating last year’s numbers with nine receptions for 135 yards and a score already.

It will be up to the Ravens safeties to limit Thomas’ impact in the passing game. Their inability to cover up tight ends and slot receivers led them to move Webb to safety and sign Eric Weddle. The latter picked off his first pass in a Ravens uniform last week and has already made a difference in the secondary.

Webb will be the one to watch as he will lushly draw the most coverage because he has the speed to keep up with Thomas. The Ravens really do not have an answer for his size so tight coverage will be the key to taking him out of the game.
