Terrell Suggs vs. Luke Joeckel

No one wishes injury to another player. Teams do not use it as an excuse and expect the backups to excel just as well as the player ahead of them. But there is no secret that opposing teams will attack that weakness.

The Jaguars lost left tackle Kelvin Beachum to a concussion on Sunday. Beachum laid motionless with his face down on the ground after taking a knee to the head. The injury was so severe that he was forced to stay in a San Diego hospital overnight and could be in jeopardy of missing the game this week.

That would move Luke Joeckel back to left tackle after making his first two career starts at left guard this season. Joeckel had played tackle in all 35 starts leading up to the season, but mostly has been a disappointment for the second overall pick in the 2013 draft.

Terrell Suggs has not looked explosive in the first two games, but this could be the game he gets back on track. Dumervil could also be back this week which would take some of the pressure off Suggs, but he has to licking his chops knowing that a Joeckel will likely be starting.
