Baltimore Ravens: 5 Matchups to Watch vs. Cleveland Browns

Devin Hester vs. Browns Special Teams
Devin Hester did nothing spectacular in his first action with the Ravens, but unlike the guys we saw in the preseason, he made no mistakes either. He caught the ball cleanly and his name alone strikes fear around the league.
The question is what does Hester have left in the tank. As we pointed out in our latest episode of our podcast BMore Wired, he looks slow and lacks the shiftiness he once had. He tried to take the edge on one kick return, but the Bills special teams was able to run him down before anything got started.
Punt returns is main reason why the Ravens brought in Hester. He only picked up one yard this past Sunday, but the Browns allowed the Eagles to average 14.8 yards per punt return, including a 40-yard return. This is an area in the special teams that Jerry Rosburg will hope to capitalize on.
Let’s be clear that we are on the record of saying the Ravens did not need Hester. He is getting paid $1 million to be a specialist that will not have a role on either side of the ball. In order for him to earn that contract, he needs to make some plays in his limited opportunities.
