Baltimore Ravens: 5 Matchups to Watch vs. Cleveland Browns
By Joe Serpico
Justin Forsett and Terrance West vs. Browns Front Seven
Much of the talk of the preseason was the acquisition of Mike Wallace and Ben Watson to the Ravens offense, but the rushing attack is looking for a bounce-back season. Baltimore lead the league in passing attempts, but hopes to even that number out this season.
Forsett and West combined for 73 yards on 22 carries in the season opener. Not a terrible performance, but not gaudy numbers either. Trestman wants his duo of backs to reach the 100-yard mark, and will likely ride the hot hand each week.
It is interesting to note that West led the team in carries, – West had 12 compared to 10 for Forsett – and each caught balls out of the backfield. Javorius Allen was also a healthy scratch for the Ravens, but it remains to be seen how often that is the case.
Cleveland gave up 133 yards on the ground last week to a questionable group of running backs. While the Ravens do not have a workhorse of their own, West and Forsett should be able to find some room to run. Expect a healthy dose of the ground game on Sunday, and it would not be a surprise if they steal the show this week.
