It’s rare that NFL teams can find two or three quality tight ends. The Ravens have as many as seven that could find jobs around the league.

In: Ben Watson, Maxx Williams, Crockett Gillmore

Watson is the leader of this unit and is guaranteed $3 million this season. There is no way he is going anywhere. However, he will have some competition for snaps.

Baltimore used a second-round pick on Williams and have high hopes that he can be a franchise tight end like the Ravens had when Todd Heap was here. The coaches would love for him to take that next step and become a force at tight end.

Gillmore was the starter for much of last season and showed flashes of brilliance. Barring injury, his spot is safe.

On the bubble: Dennis Pitta

Everyone would love to see Pitta come back from two devastating hip injuries and be a contributor for this team. He needs to get back on the field as he is now missing time after breaking his finger in a scuffle with rookie linebacker Kamalei Correa. Pitta has the best hands of the group, but the best ability is availability and that has not been the case for Pitta.

Out: Daniel Brown, Nick Boyle, Darren Waller

Boyle and Waller both start the season on the suspension lists, so they will likely stick around until their respective suspensions are up. Brown has been a preseason star the past two years, but unless the guys above them get injured, none of these guys will play for Baltimore this year. Practice squad could be an option.
