Will Terrance West Continue to Dazzle?

The biggest star in the preseason opener was running back Terrance West. He was turning heads in practice and continued to do so against the Panthers last week. Once considered an afterthought to make the roster, not only will he make it, he could be in the hunt to become the starter.

He looks more explosive than we saw him in the last two seasons with the Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans. He showed the ability to see space, plant his foot and hit holes hard. He also showed some shiftiness that was not seen since his days at Towson University.

The play that really sticks out is his second touchdown against Carolina. The play was drawn to the left side, but he saw the Panthers defense crashing that way. He stopped on a dime and headed the other way for the score. What was more impressive was the speed to get around the edge to find the end zone.

He is taking full advantage of his chance to play for his hometown team. Another strong performance against the Colts will cement his spot with the Ravens.
