#5 – Winning at Home with a .500 on the Road

The Orioles have been both notoriously good at home, while rather disappointing on the road. Compared to 2014, the major difference for the O’s from that season is the road record. Currently they are 27-34 away from Baltimore. Two years ago they finished 46-35, so losing only one more away game than is the current total.

That year was impressive, also getting 50 wins at home against 31 losses. Being currently 39-17 at OPACY, the Orioles look positioned to do better this time around.

But the Birds need to continue to do well at home while also being at least .500 on the road. If they can do that, they should be well-positioned to take the division. Of the 45 remaining games, 25 are at home with 20 on the road.

Boston has 16 home games remaining and 29 on the road. Toronto will be at home for 19 games with 24 on the road (they have played two more than the O’s and Sox). The two mortal enemies of the Orioles also have six games with each other, including the final three of the season in Toronto.

Putting all of this together, this looks like a great opportunity for the Orioles, giving them a nice advantage in this regard.
