Baltimore Ravens: 10 Storylines 10 Days Before Training Camp
By Joe Serpico
Which Running Back Carries the Load?
Justin Forsett figures to be the main man when the season starts, but whether or not he is the man for the job all season long remains to be seen. The Ravens have a stable of young running backs knocking on the door and you would think it’s only a matter of time before one takes over for the 30-year-old.
Javorius Allen took over as the lead back when Forsett broke his arm and fared well. Terrance West played extensively as well once Forsett was injured. Lorenzo Taliaferro is still on the roster as well.
Baltimore also added Trent Richardson and Kenneth Dixon this offseason, with the latter have a strong chance of taking over as the lead guy in the years to come. He fits what the Ravens offense want from their running backs. Forget about T-Rich. There is little chance he makes this team despite his draft history.
Injury Prevention
The Ravens have to figure out why their players are dropping at an alarming rate. They basically had an entire depth chart on injured reserve last year and it resulted in one of the worst seasons in franchise history.
Baltimore lost Perriman on the opening day of training camp and it was a never ending saga. Harbaugh has said that the team has changed their training approach and should lead to less injury. Let’s hope that is the case or another tumultuous year could be on the horizon.
