New Look Secondary
The secondary was arguably the Ravens’ biggest weakness in 2015 and they made an effort to sure that up this offseason. They added Eric Weddle, a former Pro Bowler, after Kendrick Lewis and Will Hill were exploited all season long. Lardarius Webb will also shift to safety in an attempt to be more athletic at the position.
They weren’t done there as they added Jerraud Powers through free agency, in addition to Tavon Young and Maurice Canady in the draft. Will Davis will also be back from injury and the Ravens are hopeful that the influx of new talent will make for better play in the secondary this season.
Will Pash Rush Be Better?
A premium was placed on acquiring as much talent to get after the quarterback this offseason. That’s really not much of a shock as Steve Bisciotti, the Ravens owner, said they would be aggressive in that area this offseason.
Terrell Suggs coming back will be a huge boost, but the youngsters that General Manager Ozzie Newsome has been able to assemble together is impressive. Correa and Bronson Kaufusi will get much of the attention as the higher draft choices, but do not sleep on small school talents Matt Judon and Victor Ochi. The Ravens will get back to chasing down quarterbacks in a hurry this season.
