The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a four-year, $16.8M extension with kicker Justin Tucker.
The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a long-term extension with kicker Justin Tucker, worth $16.8 over four years, per Adam Schefter.
That deal includes $10.8M guaranteed, which is the most for any kicker in the NFL, just ahead of Stephen Gostowski’s $10.1M guaranteed.
Tucker, who signed a franchise tag earlier in the offseason, guaranteeing him $4.57M this upcoming season, has been in talks with the Ravens regarding an extension for quite a while now.
Initially the talks were going well until Tucker was seemingly offended by whatever offer the Ravens sent him and stated that, if he could not strike a deal, he would not remain in Baltimore.
There was some skepticism that a deal would not get done and the two sides looked to be playing a game of chicken with one another to see who would budge first. In the end, both sides got what they want. Tucker gets the money he rightfully deserves. The team has a reliable leg in the roster for years to come.
The 26-year-old will be entering his fifth season with Baltimore and has proven himself to be one of the best kickers in the league with a career 87.8% field goal percentage. In 2015, Tucker was tied for second in the league for the most made field goals with 33.

Getting this deal done with Tucker is likely the final move the team will make before training camp begins with the first full-squad practice taking place on July 28.
