The Washington Wizards have re-signed Bradley Beal to a five-year, $130 million dollar deal

The Wizards have re-signed shooting guard Bradley Beal to a five-year deal worth roughly $130 million dollars, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

The Wizards and Beal had been in deep talks over the past few days about working on an extension for the 23-year-old and now things have finalized. The deal is a maximum five-year deal, something Beal himself has said he believes he deserves.

Beal was drafted third-overall in the 2012 draft out of Florida, and has struggled with injuries in his short career, playing a career-low 55 games last year before dealing with, among other injuries, a stress fracture in his right fibula.

However, Beal has shown that, when he’s on the court, he is a difference maker, averaging a career-high 17.4 points last year. He’s also shown himself to be a good passer too, averaging three assists per game over his career.

With John Wall, he makes up one of the best backcourts in the entire NBA, and if he can stay healthy, the young Beal could develop into one of the best shooting guards in the league.
