BMore Wired: Our New Baltimore Sports Podcast
By Joe Serpico
The newest Baltimore sports podcast is back with their fourth episode, but with a new name: BMore Wired.
The guys are back with Episode 4 of our podcast, and we have a new name that we feel everyone is going to like. After a failed stint with a different name that is apparently banned throughout the city of Baltimore, we have rebranded ourselves as BMore Wired, the voice of all our great writing here at The Baltimore Wire.
Scott Rosario have a lot to talk about on this episode after a short hiatus due to a mutual friend’s wedding last weekend. The world of sports did not stop for us, giving us plenty to ups and downs to touch on.
We start the show by discussing several Baltimore Ravens players making headlines as of late. Breshad Perriman has drawn a lot of criticism because of his injury, but there is no cause for concern until he actually takes the field.
Eugene Monroe is no longer with the team, a decision that will have trickle down effects throughout the offensive line. Scott thinks Ronnie Stanley is up to the task, while I am worried that the entire left side of the offensive line – which also happens to be Joe Flacco‘s blindside – could be with two rookie starters. That’s with Flacco coming off an ACL injury as well.

The focus then shifts to the Orioles, who have FINALLY put Ubaldo Jimenez in the bullpen after a terrible month. It was a move that had to be made as his stats were ballooning to numbers that should not be seen in the Majors.
Starting pitching continues to be the Orioles Achilles heel, but we are recording on the night Tyler Wilson pitched the best game of the year for the O’s. Chris Tillman continues to dominate. Meanwhile, we need to start worrying about Kevin Gausman ineffectiveness.
Adam Jones has been a revelation ever since entering the lead off spot and we praise him for his efforts. We bring up the fact that traditional lead off hitters are dying, but Jones seems to fit the new mold of the type of player you want to start the game: someone with 20-20 potential.
We introduce a new segment called “Beefed It” in this episode, where we each name one sports figure that did something terribly wrong. Scott chose Yordano Ventura, for thinking he had a chance against Manny Machado in their scuffle. Machado put Ventura on his back quickly, and now we wait to hear what are the results of Manny’s appeal to be heard on Tuesday.
I chose Stephen Curry, who took his mouthpiece out following a foul on Game 6 of the NBA Finals and threw it at a fan. The MVP of the league should keep his composure when the entire world is watching, and a fine is warranted.
That transitioned us into the discussion of the NBA Finals, which is now a 3-3 series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. We place a bet between us – Scott with the Warriors, while I have been behind the Cavs all along – where the loser will sing a song in our next episode. That makes Game 7 even more important for us.
We meant to end the show with our “7’s” segment, seven other subjects in sports that we felt needed to be discussed. In this version of 7’s, we talk about our US Open predictions, Ronnie Stanley adopting a pit bull, Craig Sager working his first NBA Finals game, questioning whether Ichiro Suzuki is the new hits leader, Freddie Freeman hitting for the cycle and USA Soccer getting a win in the Copa America and what we would do if we had the Stanley Cup for 24 hours.
We got back into a discussion about the O’s when Jim Palmer tweeted in the middle of the game that Machado needs to stop being lazy. That got me fired up about David Ortiz and his trot around the bases for hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. He acted like he won a World Series with the homer, but in reality, it was the Red Sox first run of the night and they still trailed 5-1. He makes my blood boil with how he disrespects the game.
We end the show discussing the two pitchers we would love to see the Orioles make a move to get. James Shields, who always seems to be tied to the O’s, has already been traded. I chose Jose Fernandez of the Miami Marlins, while Scott took Sonny Gray.
