No. 2: Drafting RB Kenneth Dixon in the Fourth Round

The Ravens might have found the steal of the draft when they took Kenneth Dixon with the No. 134 overall pick, late in the fourth round. He is the perfect back for Marc Trestman’s system and could force his way into a starting role by season’s end.

Dixon is one of the most prolific running backs to enter the draft in recent memory, with only Keenan Reynolds scoring more touchdowns than Dixon (87). He rushed for a school-record 4,483 yards with 72 touchdowns and added 87 receptions for 969 yards and 15 TDs. In a weird twist of fate, the Ravens added Reynolds a round later.

He is explosive in open space and can get down the field in a hurry. What makes him more enticing for Trestman is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Linebackers and safeties are going to struggle defending him on pass patterns.

Dixon has all the tools to be an every-down player in this offense. The Ravens may have found themselves a future starter in the back half of the draft.
