No. 3: Signing Mike Wallace

The idea of the Ravens adding Wallace would have never crossed my mind heading into the offseason. Now that they have made the move, it could prove to be one of the more underrated signings of the league.

There is one thing that we know Wallace is going to bring to the table and that is speed. He is lightning fast and the Ravens were missing a player of his caliber all last season with Breshad Perriman out all season long with his mysterious knee injury. Baltimore now has two players with the speed to keep defense’s honest.

Wallace gives Flacco another vertical threat and a reliable option should Perriman not be ready to take on a significant role early in the season. Steve Smith is also battling back from injury and the Ravens were already concerned about his workload heading into last season. Wallace will have a prominent role on this offense.

It was not that long ago that Wallace was wrecking havoc on secondaries in the AFC North. The Ravens are hopeful that he does once again, this time donning purple and black instead of black and yellow.
