Baltimore Ravens: Worst Draft Picks of Each Round
By Joe Serpico
Third Round: CB David Pittman (No. 87 – 2006)
There is always that one guy that when his name is called everyone goes “who the heck is that guy?” That was David Pittman in the 2006 draft.
Pittman was an undersized corner from a small school in Louisiana called Northwestern State. Few people understood why the Ravens thought he could cover bigger and more polished players, but they still made him a third-round pick. He did not play in his rookie season, but did record 10 tackles and two interceptions in seven games in 2007. He was let go after the season, and was out of the NFL by 2010.
Pittman played more football in the UFL and CFL, but he never made his mark for the Ravens. Someone selected in the first 90 picks is expected to stick around the league for more than a few seasons, but Pittman should have never been a third-round pick to begin with.
