Trades

The addition of

Mark Trumbo

gave Baltimore assurances at first base if Davis would have went elsewhere. Now it is looking as if he could be regular in right field with the

Pedro Alvarez

. He should hit for plenty of power in the middle of the Orioles lineup.

Odrisamer Despaigne

will not make the Opening Day roster, but we could see him make a few starts in case of an injury to a starting pitcher. He could be used as a long reliever down the road as well.

Edgar Olmos

has been back and forth between the Orioles and Cubs for most of the offseason. He was an Oriole for 13 days this offseason when he was claimed off waivers on Dec. 10, the last day of the winter meetings. The Cubs re-acquired him on Dec. 23 when the Orioles also placed him on waivers. The trade brought Olmos back to Baltimore and he could be in the bullpen to start the season.

Chris Jones was designated for assignment last week after the acquisition of Zach Phillips. The O’s were able to strike a deal for two minor league prospects before he hit waivers. Delgado is a 20-year-old outfielder, while Salcedo is 22 and is capable of playing multiple positions in the infield and outfield.
