The Ravens have struck gold with players drafted from the University of Delaware. The franchise has never been better since Flacco has taken the helm.

Nick Boyle

was a pleasant surprise as a sixth-round pick last season.

Gino Gradkowski

was never a star for the Ravens, but did net them the 127th pick in this draft.

Ben Curtis

could be the next for Blue Hen to make an impact in Baltimore.

Curtis was named to the Associated Press Division I Football Championship Subdivision All-American second team and the All-Colonial Athletic Association first team as a senior. Curtis is also a local talent that played his high school football at nearby Calvert Hall High. The Columbia, Md. resident started in the 43 games, including the last 40 games of his collegiate career.

Like many players that come from smaller schools, Curtis is still a raw talent, but has tremendous upside. He still has plenty of room to grow into a huge, athletic frame at 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds. He has long arms and the strength to withstand a pass rush, but it remains to be seen if his play will translate to the NFL.

The Ravens have James Hurst as the backup to both tackle positions, who was rated as the second-worst lineman in the NFL last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Curtis would be a project to work with, but with the team’s success with former Blue Hens, Curtis would make for a good late round pick.
