The Baltimore Ravens are not going to be major players in NFL free agency, but these three players would be solid additions to the team.

The Ravens have an opportunity to reload quickly this offseason. They are in the rare position to get one of the best players available in the draft and have some cap space to make a move in free agency as well. That is why this offseason might be one of the most crucial during the Ozzie Newsome regime.

They are likely to lose a key piece to their offensive line as Kelechi Osemele is expected to get a contract on the open market that the Ravens likely would not be able to match. They have a hole at inside linebacker with the release of Daryl Smith. The Ravens kept cornerback Shareece Wright on a three-year deal, but that cannot be the only move they make in the secondary. As always, a wide receiver is needed in Baltimore.

Newsome and John Harbaugh are going to need to decide in what order they want to attack this offseason. The Ravens will get one of the best players at their position with their first pick. The  second selection come with a plethora of first-round talents still available. That gives them an opportunity to get two premier players on rookie deals.

This year’s class of free agents is not a group that wows you. Osemele is questionably the best free agent available. Mario Williams, Malik Jackson and Jason Pierre-Paul are pass rushers that will garner attention, but they would not fit with the Ravens defense. It might not be the strongest group of free agents, but there are a few players that could target.

The Ravens are likely to use free agency to plug a few holes and add depth. The only big contract that they will be giving out this offseason is to K.O. Time will only tell if he is still donning purple and black next season.

Here are three free agents that make sense for Baltimore:

Danny Trevathan, ILB

The Ravens let Smith go and are looking at using two undrafted players as the potential replacements. Trevathan has the size and speed to make a difference in the run and against the pass. Pairing him with C.J. Mosley would give the Ravens a formidable duo behind Brandon Williams.

Mohamed Sanu, WR

Sanu is not a wide receiver that is going to change everything that the Ravens do, but he would give them a reliable option in the slot. With Breshad Perriman basically being a new addition as well, a receiving corps of Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken, Perriman and Sanu could be one of the deeper units in the NFL.

Manny Ramirez, OG

With Osemele on the move, the Ravens need someone to fill the gap at guard. Ramirez played center for the Detroit Lions last season, but has played guard for most of his career. He is in the back end of his career so he will not command top dollar.

The Ravens will begin to rebuild when the new league year begins at 4:00 p.m on Wednesday. These three players could each come contribute right away and get Baltimore back into playoff consideration next season.
