D. Blocked Punt / Blocked Extra Point. CB. Baltimore Ravens. ASA JACKSON

Asa Jackson

was cut in the preseason, but stuck around on the practice squad. He found his way on the 53-man roster and found a niche on special teams. That was not as a returner, however, as that experiment failed in preseason.

He played in four games for the Ravens, with the results being some good and bad. He blocked and extra point and a punt, but also was guilty of two costly penalties against the Jacksonville Jaguars that ultimately cost him his job with the Ravens. Harbaugh was not hesitant to state his displeasure with the penalties and cut Jackson a day later.

Jackson signed with the Bengals 10 days later and spent the remainder of the season on their practice squad. The Arizona Cardinals announced earlier this offseason that they have added him to the roster. Let’s just say that Ravens fans were not sad to see him go.
