Baltimore Ravens: 2015 Cornerback Grades
By Joe Serpico
The Ravens thought they found gold when Arrington was cut by the Patriots
. They imagined a three-headed monster at cornerback that featured Smith and Webb manning the outside receivers and Arrington covering the slot. That did not work out at all.
Arrington had the lowest grade of any player in the Ravens secondary, and by the end of the season, he was not sniffing the playing field. He saw almost no action until Webb’s switch to safety in the final weeks of the season.
While he didn’t play well, it’s hard to make a case to cut Arrington either. The Ravens aren’t blessed with depth at the position, which makes it difficult to justify cutting him for only $1.5 million in cap savings. How free agency and the draft play out might decide the future of Arrington in Baltimore.
