Baltimore Ravens: 2015 Cornerback Grades
By Joe Serpico
Before the season started, we knew it was going to be difficult for Walker to adjust from a small college to the NFL game. Walker remained on the 53-man roster all season long, but active for eight games. That was kind of expected. What we did not anticipate is that he would play only eight defensive snaps all season long.
Walker and the coaching staff have said that the Texas Southern product has a lot to learn. What baffles me is how Walker was passed over by Wright, Sheldon Price and Jumal Rolle at the end of the season. The Ravens traded for Davis instead of playing Walker. They even gave Arrington more opportunities before the rookie. It’s safe to say the team does not trust him on the field yet.
This offseason will be an important one for Walker. He’s no lock to make the team next season even as a fourth-round selection. It’s almost a guarantee that the Ravens will bring in some competition at corner this offseason and unless Walker makes strides, his future in Baltimore is unknown.
