Baltimore Ravens. ELVIS DUMERVIL. C. 29 Tackles / 19 Assists / 6 Sacks
1 Pass Defended / 1 Forced Fumble / 2 Fumble Recovery. OLB

There is no denying that Dumervil has been of the Ravens best even in his short time in Baltimore. In just three seasons donning the purple and black, he ranks sixth in franchise history in sacks with 32.5 quarterback takedowns. Another double digit sack total this season would put him ahead of Adalis Thomas and Ray Lewis in the team’s history books.

What concerns us about those totals is that he has made the most impact when Suggs is also on the field. His sack numbers significantly dropped this year without the former Defensive Player of the Year on the opposite end. That can be attributed to opposing a teams being able to put more double teams on Dumervil, but the best players are supposed to adjust and find a way to make plays. He also cost the Ravens a win with a 15-yard face mask penalty that put the Jacksonville Jaguars in position to kick a game-winning field goal with no time remaining.

Dumervil made the Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons even though I felt he was not worthy of the honor. There is no doubt that he still has the talent to be considered one of the best, but he was not during the 2015 season.
