Baltimore Ravens: 5 Potential Free Agents That Fit
By Joe Serpico
Darrius Heyward-Bey
Here me out before you think I have lost my mind. Darrius Heyward-Bey still has the speed and that is what is missing from the Ravens offense. One of the Ravens biggest weakness this season was their inability to stretch the ball down the field. They never made up for the loss of Torrey Smith and the trade for Chris Givens was a waste of a draft pick. Why not replace the one University of Maryland alum with another?
Obviously, he wouldn’t come to Baltimore as a starter, but could be rotated into the mix. He made big plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers and maybe a return to Maryland will do him good. He has never lived up to the first-round hype, but few thought he really was as great as the Oakland Raiders thought he would be. He could be a great mentor to Perriman, another first-rounder that has a lot of hype surrounding him, but some doubts as well. Heyward-Bay also gives Baltimore a more proven speedster if Perriman struggles.
