Eric Weddle

The first move that should be made is the addition of Eric Weddle. He has already made it public that he will not be back in San Diego due to several issues with management. In his own words, “I probably won’t speak to them again.”

Weddle is getting up there in age at 31, but is just a year removed from being named a first or second-team All-Pro selection in four straight seasons. He had a down year in 2015, but was also dealing with an injured groin most of the year.

He has been that one player in the NFL that almost every team would love to have on their team. He’s a smart player that makes plays. He’s a leader on the field and shows great class off the field (despite what you might think of the fine that has him so upset with the Chargers).

Adding Weddle would fix the safety position for at least a couple seasons. Kendrick Lewis has been a disaster and Will Hill has his moments where you wonder what he is thinking. Lardarius Webb has said he is a safety now, but he has to convince us he can do it. Ozzie needs to call Weddle’s agent first and do whatever it takes to bring him to Baltimore.
