Baltimore Ravens: 2015 Defensive Line Grades
By Joe Serpico
Jernigan has been a steady factor for the Ravens in his two seasons with the team, recording back-to-back four-sack campaigns. The front office had so much faith in the former Florida State standout that they named him the starter when
Haloti Ngatawas suspended for the final four games of last season.
He missed the first game of the season, but played in every other contest as the primary defensive tackle. He is a pretty good run defender that also has the ability to get after the passer. That’s not really expected from tackles in a 3-4 defense.
Jernigan will only be 24 once the regular season starts and already has played in 27 games with 11 starts. John Harbaugh is not gonna complain about a defensive end accumulating four-sack seasons regularly. With another productive season under his belt, he could take his game to the next level in the upcoming years.
