Baltimore Ravens. JEREMY BUTLER. C. <p><strong>31 receptions</strong></p> <p><strong>363 yards</strong></p> <p><strong>0 TD </strong></p>. WR

The undrafted Tennesee-Martin star was the highlight of minicamps and organized team activities, but it did not carry over into the preseason. The Ravens surprisingly made the decision to release Butler and sign him to the practice squad.

Butler is a bigger receiver that lacks much shiftiness to make plays in open space. He does have the ability to get open and occasionally makes the difficult grab, but Baltimore thought they had their height on the team in Waller and Brown. Injuries derailed their seasons – shocker, right? – thus Butler was given an opportunity.

The Ravens promoted Butler to the active roster before the Monday night game against the Arizona Cardinals, but it wasn’t until the second half of the year that he began to make an impression. Baltimore played pretty lousy in the blowout loss to the Seahawks, but Butler had his best game as a pro, hauling in seven receptions for 72 yards on 10 targets.

Butler is another undrafted receiver on the roster that has a murky future in Baltimore. Expect him to be in another training camp battle next season with an outside chance of making the team.
