Matthews came to Baltimore after spending the first year and a half of his career with the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. He was signed to the Ravens practice squad following his release from Seattle and would make his first appearance against his former team.

The cousin of the iconic Reggie White is best known for his four-catch, 109-yard performance in last year’s Super Bowl, but failed to make his mark with either team this season. He had his best game of the season in the season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, catching four passes for 51 yards. He also hauled in a touchdown in the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was unimpressive otherwise.

Matthews has the size to be a threat inside the 20, but could not come up with big catches when called upon. Could he be back next season? Maybe, but do not count on it.
