It was a struggle to place Flacco ahead of Suggs, but ever since the former Delaware standout has taken over the reigns for the Ravens, he has done nothing but win games for Baltimore. It doesn’t hurt that Flacco is one of only two Super Bowl MVPs in the Ravens’ 20 years in the NFL.
Flacco was the main reason the Ravens won Super Bowl XLVII. His run during those playoffs in which he tied Joe Montana‘s record for the most touchdown passes (11) without an interception was one of the greatest stretches seen in NFL history. That led him to a six-year contract worth $120.6 million, the largest contract for a quarterback at the time.
He has won more games than any quarterback since he entered the NFL in 2008. He owns just about every passing record for the Ravens such as wins, passing touchdowns, attempts, pass completions, yards and interceptions.
The debate that surrounds “Joe Cool” is whether he is elite or not. Ravens fans have found out this season how valuable he has been to the franchise as Flacco has been out since tearing his ACL and MCL earlier in the season. If Flacco can deliver another championship or two to Baltimore in his career, he could vault himself in the discussion of the top player in Ravens history.
