John “Havok” Adkins

A well-known Baltimore Ravens fan and fixture at home games at M&T Bank Stadium is among the FanSided Network’s finalists for Fan of the Year honors.

John Adkins is one of five finalists, and when you read the story on him, you can see why he is a worthy candidate.

You may know him as “Havok” if you are a regular at Ravens home games. Dressed in a colorful bird costume, he begins his day with the tailgaters and eventually is in the stadium whipping up the crowd.

Adkins grew up in Baltimore and has local family with whom he stays overnight before Ravens games. But he himself lives in North Carolina with his wife and three children.

But make no mistake about this, Adkins (or Havok) is not just some sort of eccentric so often seen in sports venues — cheering for teams, but ostensibly actually drawing attention to self for perhaps some creepy or perverse reason. No. Adkins has a full list of benevolent and charitable works that run the gamut of causes and geographies. Included in this is a significant work in Baltimore.

A feature article on Adkins and the other candidates can be seen on the FanSided Network HERE. And we at The Baltimore Wire encourage our Baltimore fanbase to not only check it out, but to also vote for one of OUR TEAM!
