2014 – Mike Lilley returned home from his position as a graduate assistant coach at King’s College, PA to win in 15:15. The former Appalachian State standout and multiple-time state champion at Williamsport High School held off Lehigh University junior Evan Hardy, who was second in 15:30.
Third and fourth places were taken by Josh Davis and Dustin Adams of Clear Spring in 15:36 and 15:37, while another pair of collegiate runners and Williamsport grads took fifth and sixth – Scott Long (Bridgewater College) and Clayton Smith (Geneva College).
The women’s overall title went to a local as well. Smithburg’s Lyndsie Delosier — senior at Bridgewater College — won in 19:26, holding off Jackie Palmer in 19:42. Mike Lilley’s sister, Rachel, former HCC and current Shippensburg University runner, placed third.
2013 – Mike Lilly’s 15:04 won by nine seconds over David Roza, with Evan Hardy third in 15:17 and Wade Miller fourth in the same time.
Smithsburg HS grad Stephanie Breen won in 18:15 over Haley Wright, Boonsboro soph, who posted an 18:24. Emily Cornise was third in 19:07.
2012 – Former HCC / U. of Oklahoma runner Tony Clement won in 14:51, with Syracuse University runner David Wilson of Smithsburg second in 15:09. Hagerstown resident David Roza of Haverford College was third in 15:17.
Maugansville twins Stephanie and Maria Borland, who ran for Kutztown University were first and second in 18:26 and 19:05.
2011 – Former HCC runners Tony Clement, Wade Miller and Justin Cole finished 1-2-3 in 14:41, 15:00, and 15:45.
Taryn Shank, North Hagerstown grad won in 18:35. Second was Smithsburg HS senior Lauren Johnson in 19:37, with former Smithsburg runner Stephanie Breen placing third in 19:41
