Fantasy basketball doesn’t get quite as much attention as fantasy football, but over the years, it has grown in popularity. The Washington Wizards are currently sitting at 6-4, and much like their play so far this season, their fantasy impact has largely been up and down. Let’s take a look at how the Wizards’ players have fared in fantasy basketball up to this point in the season.

John Wall

Wall has been one of the elite point guards in fantasy basketball this season. The fifth-year pro is averaging 16.6 points, 8.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. Wall has cooled off a bit since the beginning of the season. However, he contributes in pretty much every category in some capacity. Although he’s been somewhat inconsistent at times this season, his ability to fill the stat sheet makes him a strong fantasy asset in all formats.

Bradley Beal

When he’s healthy, Beal is a quality fantasy basketball player. So far this season, he has displayed an ability to put the ball in the basket, as he’s averaging 20.4 points per game. The majority of his production comes on the offensive end, in his scoring and shooting efficiency. If he’s on his game, he can be a deadly outside shooter. He has been battling a shoulder injury recently, which affected his performance against the Pistons on Saturday as he finished with just 7 points.

Marcin Gortat

Over the past couple of seasons, Gortat has been one of the more inconsistent fantasy basketball players. He is liable to have a big night, but there are also some games where he is simply not a factor. That up-and-down play has made it extremely difficult for fantasy owners to trust him. He’s averaging 11.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and one block per game. Those aren’t bad numbers, but considering the contract the Wizards gave him, he needs to play a whole lot better overall.

Otto Porter Jr.

Porter Jr. is coming on really strong as of late. In Washington’s last two games, he has recorded 28 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, seven steals, two blocks and two three-pointers. He seems to be coming into his own as the starting small forward for the Wizards. If he continues his hot play, there will be plenty of happy fantasy owners, who decided to take a chance on him. With a lack of depth at his position, Porter will get plenty opportunities to do his thing.
