Justin Forsett breaks arm and likely done for season
By Joe Serpico
The Baltimore Ravens season of turmoil has taken another hard hit as they have now lost their top running back to injury in the first quarter of today’s game against the St. Louis Rams.
Justin Forsett went down with just under five minutes remaining in the first quarter. His arm did not look good and it’s likely he is out for the season. He had his arm placed into an air cast when he walked off the field, and the Ravens immediately announced that the running back was out for the game.
Justin Forsett was having a terrific start to the game, rushing for 26 yards on four carries. He also had another long gain called back due to a tripping penalty on Ryan Jensen.
Javorius Allen will take over at running back in Forsett’s absence. The Ravens decided not to dress Terrance West today leaving Allen and Raheem Mostert as the only backs available for the rest of the game.
The injury is a tough blow to a team that already has offensive playmakers Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman on injured reserve as well. The Ravens have a league-high 15 players on IR and Forsett will likely be the 16th player to join the group.
