Baltimore Ravens: 5 Keys to Victory vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
By Joe Serpico
The Baltimore Ravens had Week 9 off to regroup after a disastrous 2-6 start to the season. The first eight games did not go like many expected, but that hasn’t deterred this team into believing that they have the pieces to win enough games in the second half of the season to sneak into the playoffs as a potential wild card team.
The first step to making that improbable run is this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is no longer a team that is an easy win. Gus Bradley has built a solid foundation offensively that keeps this team in contention in most games. Jacksonville has been competitive in every game this season – except a 51-17 beat down at the hands of the New England Patriots, who are out for everyone’s blood – and has something to play for in the AFC South.
Now here is some history that might surprise you. The Ravens have a 8-10 record against the Jaguars, with most of those games taking place in the early years of both franchises competing in the AFC Central. Baltimore won the most recent matchup, 20-12, in Week 15 of last season. It wasn’t a pretty game, but was an important win to help the Ravens get into the playoffs.
If the Ravens have any hope of getting back to the postseason, it starts with a win at home on Sunday. Here are the five keys to a Ravens’ victory on Sunday.
