Don’t Let Jacoby Jones Impact the Game

You never want a kick returner to be a menace in a game, especially one out for vengeance. Jacoby Jones signed with the Chargers after the Ravens released him for salary cap purposes. You know he has circled this game on his calendar.

Jones will forever be remembered in Baltimore for his efforts during the Ravens’ Super Bowl run. He was a fantastic kick returner in his time here, but that hasn’t been the case with his new team. After averaging 30.1 yards per kick and 9.9 yards per punt return in three years with the Ravens, he’s only averaging 21.4 on kick returns and -0.5 on punts. You read that right, he has a negative average on punt returns. Crazy for one of the most electric returners over the last decade.

This is not the game to allow Jones to get back on track. Sam Koch and the rest of special teams cannot let Jones make a mistake and have the Ravens pay for letting him go.
