We all know how bad the Ravens secondary has been. While Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb are solid individual corners, the scheme is failing them and opposing teams know it. It also doesn’t help when former teammates know your tendencies.
Many of us were shocked when the Ravens decided to trade Anquan Boldin to the Niners. He was easily the top receiver on the roster at the time, but the Ravens were hopeful that a receiver they selected in the second round could become the game-breaker that the team had been searching for. Little did we know that just a few years later, Torrey Smith would join Boldin in San Fransisco.
Smith won’t say it publicly, but we all know he has this game circled on his calendar. He wants nothing more than to show his former team that they should have spent the money to keep him around. A couple deep shots won’t come as surprise as the Niners knows how weak the Ravens secondary has been so far and will be looking to get down field.
