Colin Kaepernick arguably had his best game of the season last week against the Giants. The 27 points scored was a season-high, and the Niners had been struggling until Sunday night. They still rank last in total points scored and 29th in total yards.

He apparently doesn’t care about mechanics, and it shows at times. He throws a lot of passes off his back foot that can be left up for grabs. They rank 31st in passing, but the Colin effect is often felt on the ground.

Kaepernick has shown that his best performances are when he is involved both running and passing the football. His mobility forces rushers to not over pursue and that buys him added time in the pocket. His impact is felt on the ground as the Niners do rank 5th in rushing yards. The Ravens defense want to keep Kaepernick in the pocket and force him to throw, hoping that he makes that crucial mistake.
