Top 5 Edsall-Era Memories – #1 – Down Go the Hokies
The 2013 season marked the Terrapins last season in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Injuries again seemed to plague the Terps but they went into Lane Stadium hoping to leave the Hokies with a farewell gift they would never forget.
The game went into overtime where quarterback C.J. Brown led the Terps down the field and finished the Hokies off himself with a diving touchdown.
Maryland stunned Virginia Tech which all but ended their ACC Championship dreams by beating them in 27-24.
The victory also made the Terps bowl eligible for the first time under Randy Edsall.
It was the first time since 1949 that the Terrapins won in Lane Stadium and the first time since 1990 that Maryland had beaten Virginia Tech.
It was a great way to leave a conference that had seemed to put Maryland on the side burner.
