If there has been one constant about the Browns over the years, they rarely have a guy on offense that really scares you. Josh Gordon was on his way to becoming that guy, but his off-the-field issues have put a serious damper on his career. That does not leave the Browns without someone who can bust a big play on the Ravens and that is wide receiver Travis Benjamin.
The Ravens secondary has been a mess to say the least in the early part of the season. While they rank 16th in passing yards allowed, they have given up 26 points per game which is 23rd in the NFL. A.J. Green and Amari Cooper absolutely scorched the Ravens defense, and while Benjamin is nowhere near the class of those guys, he has the speed to make an impact.
Benjamin has easily been the Browns best player on offense this season. The speedster has just 16 catches on the season, but has 328 yards and four touchdowns. He also is not just getting deep looks either, as he hauled in 6-of-10 targets for 79 yards last week against the San Diego Chargers. Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb and the rest of the secondary must keep Benjamin in front of them or it’s going to be a long day.
