That brings us to North Carolina. Outside of Maryland, the Tar Heels may be the most complete team in the country. If there was ever a year for Roy Williams to get back to the national title game, this would be it.

Williams has almost his entire roster from last season back again. That experience could prove to be huge as we get deep into the season. The Tar Heels are led by seniors Marcus Paige and Brice Johnson, as well as sophomore Justin Jackson, who is a rising star. Paige may be the best leader in college basketball, while the athleticism of Johnson and Jackson are their calling cards.

North Carolina has a very strong trio of big men in Kennedy Meeks, Joel James and Isaiah Hicks. No stars amongst the bunch, but they’ll be hard to handle down low all year long.

Theo Pinson and Joel Berry II hope to take the next step in year two of their college careers and junior Nate Britt has shown some flashes of brilliance.

This North Carolina squad could be scary good. Barring injury, it would come as no surprise to see the Tar Heels cutting down the nets at season’s end.
