Start: Miami Dolphins (at Was)
The Dolphins have one of the most feared front sevens in football now, led by Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon. On the back end, Brent Grimes is one of the best corners in the league. It’s not looking good for Kirk Cousins, who will most likely be put on his back at least twice on Sunday.
Sit: New Orleans Saints (at Ari)
The Saints will have their hands full Sunday against an explosive Arizona offense. Simply put, the Cardinals just have more weapons than New Orleans can cover. The Saints have a decent secondary, but the balance of the Cardinals on offense will cause them some problems.
Start: Seattle Seahawks (at StL)
The Seahawks’ offense might have some trouble, but their defense surely will not. Todd Gurley is out and the Rams have yet to develop any type of consistency from their receivers. A Seattle unit that has kept the majority of its core should play well versus an offense that the jury is still out on.
Sit: New England Patriots (vs. Pit)
As mentioned earlier, the Patriots lost two of their best players in the secondary. They also lost Vince Wilfork, who was a mainstay in the middle of their defensive line. All of these losses could take a toll on this defense, at least to start the season. The Steelers have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL and even without, Le’Veon Bell, they could put up big numbers.
