The Maryland football team is 1-0 on the young 2015-16 college football season and they did so in impressive fashion, blowing out the Richmond Spiders by a score of 50-21 on Saturday afternoon.

Although the Terps defeated a team from the Football Championship Subdivision, there are still a handful of things that stood out for this football team. There were some bright spots, as expected in a rout such as this, but there were also a few things of note that may be somewhat of a cause for pause.

Good or bad, the Richmond game was a major stepping stone for the Terps because it gave Randy Edsall a solid idea of what works and what needs to be improved upon before getting into conference play.
